I’m surprised how often people ask me this question (especially those who find me on LinkedIn).
I have a downtown office space where I work with clients from around the world. As I’m writing this, I’m currently working on a project for a client in Australia. With phones, email, Slack, and Basecamp, there’s no reason I can’t work with anyone, anywhere, from where I’m sitting right now.
Those who ask me to work on-site actually want a “temporary employee” to get them through a project. That’s not me; I am a consultant, and I will partner with your organization to help meet your goals, but I’m not a temp.
