The Kerouac Project

The Kerouac Project is a grassroots non-profit organization that has incubated the careers of writers and artists through a writers-in-residence program in Jack Kerouac’s former home. They asked Bill and I to create a website focused on typography that evokes a feeling of classic literature.

Multiple unique page layouts

Most websites are multi-purpose, providing users with a variety of different functions and displaying a range of content on one single site. To accomplish these diverse objectives, several unique page layouts are designed.

Responsive Design for multiple screen sizes

Responsive sites adapt to different devices, providing an optimal experience for every user and eliminating the need for separate desktop and mobile sites.

Mobile-specific menus

Mobile users not only navigate a site differently than desktop users, they also often access different content on the site. Therefore, it’s essential to design a custom menu for mobile users, based on their distinct needs.

Easy to Use

Backend management is as easy as editing a Word document, with great care and time spent crafting the backend experience so even non-technical users can easily manage it.

Carefully considered typography

Typography is a fundamental element of design, especially on the web. Well-executed typography is clearly visible, legible, and appropriately sized. It should fit your brand and evoke the right style. It should also work well on mobile, as well as desktop.
